Claire

“I hope I can help people feel that fitness is attainable. Let’s make it accessible – anyone can do this, no matter where you are starting from.”

Education & History:

Claire holds a Masters in Exercise Science from California State University, Long Beach.

In her youth, Claire played soccer and basketball that came to an end due to recurring shoulder injuries. Instead of giving up sports, Claire redirected to cross country and track. Her new passion led her to compete for the team at CSU, Stanislaus and at the Boston Marathon. Since these accomplishments, Claire enjoys all different types of movement, especially yoga, pilates, strength training, and running.

These combined experiences led her to her true passion of helping people love fitness and their bodies, using a creative and holistic approach.

Work History:

After college, Claire worked in a Cardiac Rehab Facility where she was able to put her Master’s degree to work immediately. She gained experience in a clinical setting working with cardiac patients, but after 4 years, she desired a bit more creativity and critical thinking. Before joining Gym Tonic, Claire was an in-house trainer for Sunny Health and Fitness. There she was able to use her extensive fitness knowledge to serve Sunny’s client base through virtual fitness classes, writing for their health and fitness blog, and consulting on exercise equipment development.

Fun Trivia:

In her free time, Claire loves to read and has a goal of finishing 20+ books this year. She loves hiking and being outdoors and this year she has taken up the ukulele.
